Hosting in Montenegro

We host mobilities, study visits and training activities in Montenegro — and take responsibility for the learning programme, not only logistics.

Hosting in Montenegro

Hosting is more than accommodation and transfers. We plan the learning programme, coordinate trainers and local institutions, follow participants and support the documents you need for your report.

  1. 01

Needs of the organisation and participants

Before arrival we agree learning objectives, participant profiles and special needs with the sending organisation.

  2. 02

    Learning programme

A programme built around the objectives: workshops, job shadowing, lessons, visits and reflection sessions.

  3. 03

    Trainers, experts and local institutions

We coordinate trainers, experts, schools, companies and public institutions in Montenegro.

  4. 04

    Institution visits and field activities

Visits and field work planned so that they serve the learning objectives.

  5. 05

    Local logistics

Accommodation, local transport, venues and catering coordinated with the programme.

  6. 06

    Participant follow-up and documentation

Daily follow-up, evaluation and support with attendance and learning documents. We do not issue certificates or recognition we are not authorised to issue.

  7. 07

    Reports and closure

Activity reports and the documents your final report needs.

Programme rules

What Erasmus+ allows in Montenegro

Montenegro is a third country not associated to Erasmus+ (Region 1, Western Balkans). That is why some activities can take place here and others cannot. We check the current rules before every project — and tell you openly when an idea does not fit.

  • Possible

Youth exchanges and youth worker mobility

Possible with a Montenegrin participating organisation such as Adriatic Bridge, together with at least one organisation from an EU Member State or associated country. The activity can take place in Montenegro.

  • Possible with conditions

    VET staff and learner mobility

Only for organisations holding an Erasmus accreditation in VET: job shadowing, teaching or training assignments and individual learner mobility. At most 20% of the grant may go to non-associated third countries.

  • Possible with conditions

    Higher education mobility

Through the international mobility strands of universities (international dimension).

  • Not possible in Montenegro

School and adult education mobility (KA1)

Erasmus+ funds these activities only in EU Member States and associated countries — including teacher job shadowing. We help with other options: partners in EU countries or Türkiye, or study visits funded from other sources.

  • Possible with conditions

    Cooperation partnerships (KA220)

A Montenegrin organisation can join as a partner, not as coordinator, if it brings essential added value to the project.

  • Not possible in Montenegro

    Small-scale partnerships (KA210)

Only organisations from EU Member States and associated countries. We can still help organisations from those countries prepare a KA210 application.

  • Possible

Capacity building (VET, higher education, youth)

Montenegrin organisations can take part in these international actions.

  • Possible

    Horizon Europe

Montenegro is associated to Horizon Europe: organisations take part on the same terms as those in EU Member States.

Hosting step by step

How hosting works

  1. 01

    Before arrival

    • Call about your objectives, participants and dates
    • Programme proposal built around your learning objectives
    • Written agreement on roles, services and costs
    • Practical information: travel, accommodation, contacts
  2. 02

    During the stay

    • Welcome and orientation session
    • Daily programme with trainers, schools and institutions
    • A contact person available throughout the stay
    • Mid-point and final reflection with your group
  3. 03

    After the activity

    • Confirmation of attendance and an activity summary for your files
    • Evaluation with your group leader
    • Support with the information you need for your report
    • Follow-up cooperation if you wish

Illustrative five-day programme

An example only — every programme is built around your objectives, group and dates.

  1. Day 1Arrival, welcome and orientation; introduction to the Montenegrin education and youth system.
  2. Day 2Visits to institutions related to your topic; observation and discussion with staff.
  3. Day 3Workshops with local trainers and practitioners; exchange of methods and materials.
  4. Day 4Field visit linked to the learning objectives, followed by a group reflection.
  5. Day 5Evaluation, attendance documents and departure.

What we need from you

  • Your organisation and the programme or action
  • Number and profile of participants
  • Preferred dates and duration
  • Learning objectives
  • Special needs or accessibility requirements
  • Funding status: approved, applying or other funding

How costs work

Costs depend on the programme, duration, group size and the services you need. Once we understand your needs, we send a written offer that lists exactly what is included. In Erasmus+ projects the grant is paid to the sending organisation, which decides how to use it within the rules of its grant agreement.

Start international cooperation

Tell us how you would like to cooperate. We explain the options in our reply.

Please do not send project files or confidential ideas. A short description is enough. We never publish your request.
